The 18th five-day Karachi International Book Fair, organized by the Pakistan Publishers and Booksellers Association at Karachi Expo Center, concluded successfully on Monday, with approximately 500,000 attendees over the course of the event. On the final day, publishers offered books at discounted rates, which were well received by book lovers. The number of participants in the fair exceeded 500,000, including students, professionals, and prominent personalities from various fields. The fair featured 330 stalls by both local and foreign publishers and booksellers. Additionally, various competitions, book launches, and educational activities took place during the fair. The event was inaugurated by the Caretaker Chief Minister and witnessed visits from several political and literary figures. The organizers expressed their gratitude to the participants and announced plans to expand the fair to other cities in the future. The event also featured the introduction of innovative products such as a table calendar for visually impaired individuals and a hand-made Formula One sports car. Additionally, academic and literary seminars were conducted on various topics. The fair saw a high demand for books on history, fiction, practical activities, and textbooks. Furthermore, ATM facilities and strict security measures were provided for the convenience and safety of attendees.
