Kabul: The Afghan Ministry of Defense has rejected the claims made by Pakistan that Afghan citizens were involved in the attack on Chinese engineers in Besham last month.

According to reports from news agencies, Afghan National Defense Ministry spokesperson Mawlawi Enayatullah Khurasani stated that Afghan citizens were not involved in such attacks. He said that blaming Afghanistan for such incidents is an unsuccessful attempt to divert attention from the reality, and they strongly reject it.

Khurasani mentioned that the killing of Chinese citizens in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region shows the weakness of Pakistani security agencies. He accused Pakistan of trying to divert attention by blaming Kabul and stated that Afghanistan rejects this influence. The Islamic Emirate has assured China that Afghan citizens were not involved in such incidents.

It should be noted that in March, an attack on a car carrying Chinese engineers was carried out in Besham, resulting in the deaths of 6 people, including Pakistani drivers, and the engineers were working on the construction of the Qaraquram Highway dam.

During a press conference, Major General Ahmed Sharif, Director General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army, stated that the planning of the suicide attack on the car of Chinese engineers in Besham was done in neighboring Afghanistan and the suicide bomber was an Afghan citizen.

He mentioned that despite continuous demands and provided evidence, the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is still active in Afghanistan, and although Pakistan provided authenticated evidence, no action was taken and recent terrorist incidents could also be linked to Afghanistan.

Relations between the Afghan Taliban and Pakistan have been strained in recent months, as Islamabad demands that the Afghan government take action against terrorists targeting Pakistan, but no action is taken. In March, Pakistan also conducted aerial operations against terrorists in border areas of Afghanistan.
