Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Republican, has implemented some of the toughest regulations in the country with a new law that will limit or prohibit children’s access to social media. Proponents argue that this law is necessary to safeguard minors, but it is being challenged by tech giants, as well as those who advocate for free speech and privacy rights.

On the global stage, other countries are also taking steps to address these issues. Joining us to discuss the various arguments for and against these measures are our esteemed guests: Hannah Oertel, who founded Delay Smartphones in the UK to protect children from the negative effects of smartphones; Nirali Bhatia, a cyber psychologist and founder of an anti-cyberbullying campaign in India; and Noeline Blackwell, the online safety coordinator of the Irish charity Children’s Rights Alliance.

I’m your host, Nick Clark, and together we will delve into the complexities of this contentious issue.
