Quetta: The Judicial Magistrate has provided temporary relief to Chairman of the Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP), Mahmood Khan Achakzai, by suspending his arrest warrant until the next hearing. The arrest warrant was issued, but Quetta Bar Association’s president along with other lawyers filed a request on behalf of Mahmood Khan Achakzai in court, which was addressed during the hearing by the Judicial Magistrate.

Presiding over the hearing, Judge Kamran Baloch approved the non-bailable arrest warrant while postponing the hearing until May 31. Achakzai’s lawyer, Advocate Qari Rehmatullah, argued that the allegations against his client were based on false charges of indecency. He emphasized that during the time of the raid mentioned in the FIR, Achakzai was not even present in Quetta.

One of the lawyers challenging Achakzai’s arrest warrant, Nasibullah Kassi, informed Express Tribune that the decision to suspend the arrest warrant was made during the court session, where the Magistrate halted any further action on the warrant.
