The carbon footprint of wealthy countries is disproportionately impacting developing nations who are bearing the brunt of climate change effects without reaping the benefits. Wealthier nations like the United States and Western European countries are responsible for a significant portion of greenhouse gas emissions, yet it is the poorer nations that are facing the most severe consequences.

Just 23 countries account for half of the world’s carbon dioxide emissions, leading to a global climate crisis. After the Hurricane highlights how vulnerable populations in developing countries are experiencing detrimental effects on health, food, water, education, and more due to climate change. Additionally, it sheds light on how disadvantaged communities within wealthy countries are disproportionately impacted by their government’s lack of action on climate change, while those responsible for the emissions continue to profit.
