Islamabad: Pakistan’s historic lunar mission (IQube-Q) will be launched on Friday from China. According to the Institute of Space and Technology (IST) in Islamabad, the satellite IQube-Q was built in collaboration between the Chinese Shanghai University and Pakistan’s national space agency SUPARCO. IQube-Q is equipped with two optical cameras to capture images of the moon’s surface from orbit. After successful testing of the satellite, IQube-Q has been connected with China’s Chang’e 6 mission, which will be launched into space on May 6th. Chang’e 6 is the sixth mission in China’s series of moon exploration missions. The launch will be broadcast live on IST’s website and social media platforms.
