The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have not yet finalized the candidates for the positions of leader of the house, speaker, and deputy speaker in Balochistan. This comes three days before the first session of the Balochistan Assembly. The coalition government was formed after PPP agreed to support PML-N’s candidate Shehbaz Sharif for the prime ministership in the National Assembly.

The chief minister nominee will be from PPP, the speaker from PML-N, and the deputy speaker from PPP. The slot of the new governor will be filled by PML-N.

Several names are being considered for the chief minister position, including Nawab Sanaullah Zehri, Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti, Mir Zahoor Ahmed Buledi, and Mir Sadiq Umrani. The decision for the leader of the house has not been finalized despite discussions and meetings.

PML-N is also facing challenges in finalizing the candidates for the speaker and governor positions. Some PML-N members have reservations about giving the chief minister slot to PPP without consulting the provincial leadership.

The Balochistan Awami Party has proposed Sadiq Sanjrani for the position of speaker, while PML-N is yet to finalize the candidate for the governor. Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail is a frontrunner for the governor position.
