The Israeli army has escalated violence in Gaza by killing more Palestinians following their seizure of the Rafah crossing, a vital route for aid deliveries to the 2.3 million Palestinians in the region. This move by Israel has worsened an already dire situation in Gaza.

The defiance of the US by Israel in seizing the crossing raises questions about the motives behind such actions. The consequences of this takeover could have far-reaching implications for all sides involved.

In discussing this issue, we have with us today Salman Sheikh, founder of peacebuilding organization The Sheikh Group, Nour Odeh, a political analyst and public diplomacy specialist, and H A Hellyer, a senior associate fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace and the Royal United Services Institute in London.

I am your host, Tom McRae, and together we will delve deeper into the implications of Israel’s actions in Gaza and what it means for the region as a whole.
