Multiple Baloch protesters in Islamabad were arrested, beaten, and subjected to a violent crackdown by the state. Videos shared on social media showed police using water cannons and tear gas against the demonstrators. Camps and loudspeakers set up by the protesters were also dismantled by the police. The long march, led by Baloch women, was forcefully prevented from reaching the National Press Club. The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan strongly condemned the police crackdown, demanding the unconditional release of the detained protesters. Amnesty International South Asia also expressed deep concern over the excessive use of force by the authorities and called for the immediate release of the protesters. Numerous human rights activists and political figures also criticised the actions of the state against the Baloch protesters.
