AIG Karachi Khadim Hussain Rind claimed that the crime rate in Karachi has decreased due to the expulsion of illegal immigrants, including Afghans, from the city. He stated that the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals is ongoing in a safe and dignified manner, with over 441,893 illegal Afghans already leaving Pakistan. Rind also mentioned that the illegal Afghanis were involved in serious crimes such as dacoities and rape, and their departure has led to a drop in the crime rate. Additionally, the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Sindh police recently arrested two hardcore ‘Afghan-trained’ militants who were planning a terror attack on the Karachi-Rohri train. The militants, who were members of a banned outfit, had also planned to abduct a fruit dealer from interior Sindh and had received bomb-making training in Afghanistan.
