Peshawar: A summary has been prepared to increase the allowances for provincial ministers and advisors in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Administration Department has recommended to the Chief Minister in the summary to increase the funds allocated for house rent, subsidy, and decoration from 5 million to 10 million rupees. In case of no official residence, the rent for rented houses is proposed to be increased from 70,000 to 200,000 rupees monthly.

It should be noted that in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, there are 15 ministers, 5 advisors, and 4 special government team members, whose bill will be presented in the assembly for approval. On the other hand, Finance Minister Muzammil Isalm expressed his ignorance about any such summary, saying that we will see when the summary arrives.

Meanwhile, the Information Advisor’s Office of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has stated that the recommendation is still in its initial stages as the allowances for the ministers and advisors of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are still far less than those in Punjab and Sindh.

They said that only 7 residences are available for provincial ministers, while 17 ministers and advisors reside in personal or rented houses, estimated to cost billions for the construction of government residences. Instead of constructing new residences, the recommendation is to increase house subsidies.
