Important meeting between Army Chief and Iranian President, exchange of views on border security and regional peace

Rawalpindi: A meeting of great significance took place between Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the meeting between the Army Chief and the Iranian President primarily focused on mutual interests, particularly regional security, stability, and border safety.

Both sides agreed to enhance mutual efforts for regional stability and economic prosperity, promote bilateral cooperation, and Chief of Army Staff referred to the Pakistan-Iran border as a boundary of “peace and friendship.”

The Army Chief emphasized the need for better coordination with the neighboring countries to effectively combat terrorism and keep the borders safe.

The Iranian President stated that by promoting cooperation between the two armed forces, Pakistan and Iran can achieve peace and stability for both nations and the region.
