Karachi: The Department of Culture, under the Sindh government, will set up a Culture Mart in the Sindh Archive Department within the next week, providing artisans from all over Sindh, including Karachi, the opportunity to sell their goods at good prices.

According to details, the Department of Culture in Sindh is constructing the Culture Mart in the Sindh Archive Department, where temporary stalls will be set up in a two-storey building for artisans from all over Sindh to sell their hand-crafted goods at good prices.

Minister of Culture Dr. Jonejo Ali Shah said that priority will be given to women artisans in providing stalls, and the artisans will retain 100% of the profits from the sale of their goods.

The purpose of establishing the Culture Mart by the Department of Culture is to promote Sindh’s craftsmanship in Pakistan and around the world, as tourists from abroad frequently visit Clifton.

They further stated that the women of Sindh are learning the art of craftsmanship to be financially independent and support their families, which is an ordinary thing for us, but people from abroad buy gifts from Pakistan for their loved ones.

The Culture Minister also said that after the establishment of the Culture Mart, groups will be formed, and a day of the week will be assigned to each group so that everyone has an equal opportunity. This is an experiment, and if successful, more Culture Marts will be established in Sindh.
