An FIR has been filed against Australian cricketer Mitchell Marsh in India for allegedly disrespecting the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 trophy. The FIR was lodged after a picture of Marsh with his legs on the trophy went viral following Australia’s victory in the final. The gesture sparked outrage among Indian cricketers and fans, with RTI activist Pandit Keshav lodging the complaint. India Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been requested to bar Marsh from playing cricket in India. Indian pacer Mohammed Shami expressed his disappointment, stating that Marsh’s behavior upset him. Marsh scored 441 runs and bagged two wickets in 10 matches during the tournament.
