Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar Khan has said that our candidates are being deprived of nomination papers. Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail, he said that the announcement of elections has been made and we want the elections to be held on time. Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s secretary has been stopped by his nomination papers at Adiala Jail. If people are deprived of nomination papers, the impact of a fair and transparent election will be eliminated.
He said that we will get the nomination papers signed from the founder of PTI tomorrow. I was not allowed to take a simple paper to jail today. The Election Commission should ensure that the elections are fair and transparent. PTI will contest elections from Mianwali, Lahore, and Islamabad.
Barrister Gohar Khan said that Nawaz Sharif always plays together with the empire, this time our candidates are not allowed to go into the field. We have always demanded that the elections be held on time. We do not want the Election Commissioner to be removed at this time. We fear that if our people are stopped, the situation will deteriorate. We do not want the situation to deteriorate.
The Chairman of PTI further said that consultations are underway with the founder of PTI regarding tickets, which may take more time.
Meanwhile, Barrister Ali Zafar said while talking to the media outside Adiala Jail that PTI has instructed to convey some messages to the public. Heartbreaking news is coming from all over Pakistan. Wherever our candidates are collecting nomination papers, their papers are being snatched from them. We have decided to go to court on this matter. Depriving candidates of nomination papers is not a reflection of free and fair elections.
According to Barrister Ali Zafar, we are standing with the Supreme Court in terms of holding elections. Stability in the country is possible only through elections. If PTI is not given a chance, it will damage democracy. The Election Commission is requested to make a decision on PTI’s electoral symbol. The decision on the Toshakhana case is also expected soon from the Islamabad High Court. We hope to receive justice from the courts.
