Former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stated on Wednesday that Pakistan was progressing under the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s leadership, but his disqualification caused a setback in the country’s development.

Nawaz Sharif, addressing Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ticket aspirants, mentioned that this was not the first time he faced such an ‘accident’, as he had been removed from power three times before.

He questioned who should be held accountable for the current crises in Pakistan and stated that “We shot ourselves in our foot.”

Nawaz Sharif also highlighted the low inflation during his government in 2014 and the significant increase in the price of basic commodities since then. He also claimed that ‘fake cases’ were filed against him and other PML-N leaders.

Furthermore, he questioned the need for making ‘fake cases’ against him and criticized the circumstances under which an elected prime minister can be removed by ‘five judges’.

It is worth mentioning that Nawaz Sharif, who recently returned to Pakistan after being in exile, was convicted in several cases but was acquitted in some of them earlier this week.
