The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) saw continued bearish activity on Wednesday, with the benchmark index shedding over 1,000 points in intraday trading. The KSE-100 index plunged by 1484.58 points to reach 61,348.45, down 2.21 per cent from the previous close of 62,833.03. Analysts attributed the decline to profit-taking by investors and over-leveraged positions in the market. The banking sector was also seen booking profits. The bearish trend was expected to continue as the year end approached and elections approached.
