Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar has been inaugurated as the 8th caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan. The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Aiwan-e-Sadar, where President Arif Alvi administered the oath in the presence of the outgoing Prime Minister, Shehbaz Sharif, and former cabinet members.

In a congratulatory gesture, Shahbaz Sharif extended warm felicitations to Caretaker Prime Minister Anwar Haq Kakar, expressing his confidence in his ability to conduct free and fair elections.

Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar will lead the country through to the general elections, which are scheduled to take place in the coming months. His first task will be to select a cabinet to manage the country during the election period that could potentially span several months.

Last week, the National Assembly was dissolved, and as per the constitution, elections are due within 90 days. However, there has been speculation of a potential delay in the voting process. The Election Commission needed time to redraw constituency boundaries based on the latest census data, which was published earlier this month, to ensure fair representation of the population.

Saturday saw the announcement of Senator Anwarul Haq Kakar as Pakistan’s caretaker Prime Minister. Prime Minister Shehbaz and opposition leader Raja Riaz sent a recommendation to President Alvi, which was officially signed and approved.
