An Al Jazeera journalist was killed by a drone-fired missile while covering the bombing of a school in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. Another journalist was wounded, and despite rescue efforts, one journalist’s body could not be recovered. The injured journalist was identified as Wael al-Dahdouh, who had recently lost his wife, son, daughter, and grandson in an Israeli airstrike. Al Jazeera expressed deep concerns for the safety of its colleagues in Gaza and appealed for the evacuation of the injured journalist. A total of 63 journalists and media workers have been verified as deceased so far in the Gaza Strip, with additional incidents of injuries, missing individuals, arrests, assaults, threats, and cyber-attacks.
