Lahore: Senator Asad Umar of the Muslim League-N has said that if the president does not convene a session on February 29th, the speaker can convene a session constitutionally himself.
Speaking to media outside the Punjab Assembly, Senator Asad Umar said that the constitution clearly states that if a session is not called, the speaker has the authority to call a session on the 21st day, and based on the constitutional 21-day deadline, February 29th is the last date.
He said that the same principle will apply in the provinces if the governor does not call a session.
Former Finance Minister Asad Umar had said that he cannot predict how the economy will improve on such a shaky floor.
