41 years have passed since the separation of the creator of the national anthem, Hafeez Jalandhari, from his fans. According to details, after the national anthem, Hafeez Jalandhari’s second major achievement is the Shahnama Islam, for which he was also honored by the government with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his literary and educational services. Hafeez Jalandhari, the creator of the national anthem, was born on January 14, 1900, in Jalandhar and had a deep connection with literature. He made a separate identity through his ghazals and poems, and contributed significantly to the field of poetry and music, writing numerous famous books. Malika Pukhraj popularized Hafeez Jalandhari’s poetry and gained nationwide fame. In 1949, he was selected for his written national anthem in a competition involving 723 poets and composers. The government also honored him with the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his literary and artistic services, as well as the titles of Poet of Pakistan and Poet of Islam. He passed away on December 21, 1982, at the age of 82, and is buried in the Great Iqbal Park.
