In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 5,278 candidates have come forward for the 2024 general elections, with only 2 people submitting papers for a seat in the Lower Kohistan assembly and 56 people submitting papers for a seat in Upper Kohistan assembly.

According to Express News, a total of 5,278 candidates have come forward for the 2024 general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with 1,283 candidates for the National Assembly and 3,349 candidates for the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly submitting nomination papers.

For the National Assembly general sessions, 1,322 candidates have come forward, with 39 women submitting papers for the National Assembly general sessions and 115 women submitting papers for the provincial assembly.

A total of 97 women have submitted papers for the specific seats for women in the National Assembly from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and 321 candidates have come forward for the specific seats for women in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, with 68 men and 6 women submitting papers for minority seats in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly.

Unique records have been set for the elections in the Lower and Upper Kohistan districts for the KP Assembly. Only 2 candidates have submitted papers for the PK-32 Lower Kohistan seat, and a record 56 candidates have submitted papers for a seat in Upper Kohistan.
