Islamabad: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that reforms in governance systems and economic stability of the country are among the top priorities of our government. We will further promote relationships with international partners to advance the interests of the country.

Speaking at a dinner hosted by the Foreign Office, Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Prime Minister said that the blessed month of Ramadan is a month of blessings and prosperity, today’s ceremony reflects our cultural values and interfaith harmony.

He said that all minorities in Pakistan have the complete freedom to live according to their religious beliefs.

The Prime Minister said, “We stand shoulder to shoulder with our Palestinian and Kashmiri brothers and sisters who continue to strive against injustice and barbarism even during the month of Ramadan.”

Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan welcomes the ceasefire agreement of the United Nations Security Council in Gaza and urges immediate implementation of the ceasefire agreement.

Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said that during his tenure at the council, Pakistan will work to uphold the mandate of the council in maintaining international peace and security.

He said that the month of Ramadan has special religious and social significance for Muslims around the world, and dialogue and cooperation are important for mutual understanding and common thinking.

Pakistan’s foreign policy is based on the principles of peace, equality, and justice, and Pakistan will remain a flagbearer of diversity, peace, progress, and mutual happiness. Pakistan is hopeful for a non-permanent seat in the United Nations Security Council for 2025 and 2026. The Asia-Pacific Group of countries have supported Pakistan in this regard. Pakistan calls for the support of all other countries for a non-permanent seat in the Security Council.

The Foreign Minister said that Pakistan will promote the mandate of the council to maintain international peace and security during his tenure. We should not forget the Muslims of Gaza during the month of Ramadan. The Muslims in Gaza have been facing hunger and war for the past six months. It is time for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, as demanded by the United Nations Security Council.

Ishaq Dar said that regional disputes cannot be resolved without peace and prosperity, and the agenda of the United Nations Security Council should be used to resolve longstanding disputes such as Palestine and Kashmir. The attacks this week in Moscow and Bisham remind us that terrorism is a threat to the whole world. Pakistan will continue to promote regional and global cooperation to deal with this threat.

He said, “The Holy Quran states, ‘Whoever saves one life, it is as if he has saved all of mankind, and whoever kills one person, it is as if he has killed all of mankind.’ Our struggle against terrorism will not end until peace wins. It is a unique opportunity for us to promote dialogue and understanding between nations despite our differences. Pakistan is ready to promote cooperation between countries for the peace of the whole world.”
