Karachi: The Urdu translation of the book “The Art of Feminine Life” by Iran’s first lady doctor Jamila Alm Elhadi was launched in Karachi.
The book launch took place at the IA City campus of Karachi University, organized under the auspices of University of Karachi, with special guests including Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, current President Asif Ali Zardari’s daughter and Member of the National Assembly Aseefa Bhutto Zardari in attendance, as well as Iran’s President Dr. Ibrahim Raisi’s daughter Rehana Raisi.
Aseefa Bhutto Zardari presented a shield to Iranian first lady Dr. Jamila Alm Elhadi from the University of Karachi, while the Dean of Islamic Studies at the University of Karachi, Dr. Zahid Ali Zahidi, presented Aseefa Bhutto Zardari with a token of appreciation from the University of Karachi.
Speaking at the book launch, Iran’s first lady emphasized the important role of women in society and particularly in Islamic civilization. Dr. Jamila praised Pakistani women for their inclination towards Islamic hijab.
She further mentioned that prior to the Islamic revolution in Iran, Pakistan had also embraced Islamic principles. Pakistani women were also invited to engage in collaborative research in science, social sciences, and Islamic studies.
Representing the University of Karachi’s Vice-Chancellor, Dean of Islamic Studies Dr. Zahid Ali Zahidi stated that no civilization can flourish without the participation of women. He referred to a statement by Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, emphasizing the need to establish a modern Islamic civilization where the role of women is crucial.
It is worth noting that at the event where Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi was awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Karachi, Vice-Chancellor Professor Khalid Iraqi was unable to attend due to his prior commitments.
