United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres condemned the line of blocked aid trucks stuck on Egypt’s side of the border with Gaza while Palestinians face starvation on the other side as a “moral outrage.” During a visit to the Rafah crossing, Guterres highlighted the suffering of Palestinians in Gaza and the heartbreak caused by blocked relief trucks. He called for more humanitarian aid to be allowed into Gaza, emphasizing the need to prevent famine in the region. Guterres also stressed the importance of a humanitarian ceasefire to facilitate aid distribution and called for the release of all captives held by Hamas in Gaza.
