New airstrikes on Houthi targets in Yemen and continued Israeli raids in the occupied West Bank have raised tensions in the region. In the latest updates, Israeli forces have conducted overnight raids across the occupied West Bank, resulting in the deaths of three Palestinian teenagers near the illegal “Adora” settlement in Hebron. UN aid chief Martin Griffiths has expressed deep alarm at Israeli plans to transfer Palestinian civilians from Gaza to third countries, calling for a ceasefire.

Human Rights Watch has also warned of a catastrophic situation in Gaza, where medical workers in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital are struggling to treat patients due to a lack of fuel. Meanwhile, Israel’s bombardment of Gaza has cut off telecommunications and internet access, complicating rescue efforts by medical workers.

On the other hand, the United States has carried out new air raids against Yemen’s Houthi forces, promising to protect shipping in the Red Sea amidst growing tensions in the Middle East. President Joe Biden has vowed to continue targeting the Houthis if their behavior persists.

The International Court of Justice wrapped up hearings in The Hague on allegations of “genocidal intent” against Israel in its war on Gaza. South Africa has made the claims, while Turkey is providing documents for the case. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has rejected the premise of the case, while Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi has expressed support for it.
