Israeli air strikes have caused dozens of deaths in the Rafah district of southern Gaza, where many displaced Palestinians had sought refuge from the bombardment in the north. At least 29 people were killed in air strikes on residential buildings on Tuesday. Initially, Israel had ordered Palestinians to evacuate to southern Gaza, but the military has since expanded its offensive to the south, leaving no safe places for civilians. Another 13 Palestinians were killed in an air raid on the Jabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza. The Ministry of Health in Gaza reported that the scale of destruction is massive, with many people injured or killed. The spokesperson for the ministry also said that 214 people have been killed and 300 wounded, and that many victims are still trapped under the rubble or on the roads.
