According to details, near the Golimar Khajji Ground Mohammad Mosque, the wife shot and killed her husband, Abbas, on the spot while the police reached the scene and arrested the suspect, seizing weapons and bullet casings, while the body of the deceased was transferred to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal proceedings.
SHO Razia Zubair revealed that the deceased was identified as Ziaullah, son of Ataullah, who was a resident of New Karachi. The suspect, Maham, and the deceased Ziaullah were both getting remarried, which had taken place just a month ago, and Maham is the mother of a 3-year-old son, while the deceased used to work in construction.
During initial investigation, Maham, the suspect’s wife, alleged that her deceased husband used to physically abuse and threaten her with a gun, and did not allow her to meet her son from her previous husband. However, today he allowed her to meet her son, and during this time he placed a pistol in front of her. Both of them then set out on a motorcycle to go to Ziaullah’s house in Golimar.
Maham stated that when a call came on Ziaullah’s mobile phone a short distance from her previous husband’s house, he stopped the motorcycle in the lane and was talking, during which she took out the pistol from her purse and fired at him.
Zubair Nawaz further explained that Ziaullah had gunshot wounds on his chest and hands, while the police recovered 3 bullet casings from a 30 bore pistol at the crime scene, and also recovered a murder weapon from the suspect’s possession.
After a few alleys from the crime scene, the police also arrested Maham’s first husband, who is a resident of Golimar, who stated that he had divorced Maham, while initial investigations have also revealed that Ziaullah’s first wife had divorced him a few years ago, but the police have also contacted his heirs for further information regarding the incident.
