PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari announced on Sunday that his father Asif Ali Zardari would be the party’s candidate for the presidential election. This announcement came after inconclusive talks between PPP and PML-N to form a power-sharing formula in the upcoming coalition government. Both parties agreed to meet again to finalize the power-sharing formula.

During a rally in Thatta, Bilawal stated that the party would not seek any ministries in the federal cabinet, as they are focused on benefiting the people and saving democracy. He also announced that Zardari would be the presidential candidate and emphasized the need to put out the “fire” spreading across the country.

Bilawal expressed that he did not have the right to run for the prime minister’s slot, but he emphasized the party’s determination to solve the people’s problems. He rejected a power-sharing formula that was offered to him, stating that if he becomes the prime minister, it would be after the people of Pakistan elect him. He also called for all political powers and stakeholders to consider the welfare of the people and improve the democratic system.

In a social media post, Bilawal thanked Pakistan and expressed reservations about the elections, adding that all political parties should prioritize the interests of the people over personal ambitions. He also urged political parties to set aside their differences and work together for the betterment of the nation.
