The JI spokesperson has announced that official invitations for the APC have been sent to representatives of all political parties in Pakistan in an effort to save democracy. Former JI chief, Sirajul Haq, has urged all political party leaders to unite for the establishment of ‘true democracy’ and has labeled the general election 2024 as the ‘most controversial’ in Pakistan’s history. He has also emphasized the need to engage with affected political parties, including PTI. Additionally, he has warned against indifference to the threat to democracy and has announced his resignation from his party position as JI ameer following the defeat in the February 8 general elections in 2024. The development has been confirmed by JI’s Central Secretary Information, Qaiser Sharif, who indicated that an emergency session of the central shura will be held to discuss the post-resignation of the JI Ameer.
