Washington: The US court has charged an Indian citizen with the conspiracy to murder Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. According to the news agency, during a hearing in Manhattan, a federal prosecutor said that the task of killing Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh was given to a person named Nihal Gupta by an Indian government officer, and then the whole plan of the murder was made.

According to the plea, the attack on the Sikh leader and revelations in the intelligence report were revealed when the police arrested Nihal Gupta from the public check last June, who confessed to the murder plot during the investigation.

The Indian embassy in Washington has not immediately reacted to the US Department of Justice’s allegations. Last week, spokesperson John Kirby of the US National Security Council said that US authorities had thwarted an Indian government’s involvement in a conspiracy to kill a pro-independence Sikh leader in America and issued a warning to New Delhi about concerns.

It is worth noting that a few days ago, a British newspaper revealed that India wanted to kill Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun in America, after which the American intelligence agency had thwarted the conspiracy and also warned India.
