Two deadly blasts struck Pishin and Qila Saifullah in Balochistan, killing 28 people and injuring over 40, just a day before the general elections were set to take place in Pakistan. The first blast occurred in Pishin’s Khanozai union council, followed by a second blast in Qila Saifullah outside the Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F) election office. The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and the interim Balochistan Chief Minister expressed their grief over the loss of lives and urged voters not to be scared, assuring improved security arrangements. The Quetta Bar Association also mourned the attacks and criticized the government and law enforcement agencies for failing to prevent them. These blasts are part of a rise in terrorist activities seen in Pakistan, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, as reported in an annual security report.
