Beloved Miyan’s Memorable Picture

Lahore: It has been 23 years since the award-winning beloved Miyan Qawwal parted ways with his fans. Beloved Miyan’s qawwalis, including “Sharabi mein sharabi,” “Teri soorat” and “Allah hi janay” still resonate deeply with the listeners.

The famous qawwal was also honored by the Pakistani government with several awards, including the Pride of Performance in recognition of his artistic services.

Beloved Miyan was born on April 13, 1942, in the Indian city of Delhi. He is considered one of the most popular qawwals in Pakistan.

The owner of a strong and powerful voice, Beloved Miyan’s real name was Abdul Aziz. “Miyan” was his phrase which he often used in his qawwalis, and later became a part of his name.

In 1989, the Pakistani government also honored him with the Pride of Performance award for his outstanding performance.

Beloved Miyan passed away on December 6, 2000, in Tehran due to a heart attack, but his sung qawwalis still live in the hearts of his fans.
