Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board has appointed Azhar Mahmood as the head coach of the national team for the tour of New Zealand. The PCB has appointed former Test cricketer Azhar Mahmood as the head coach of the Pakistan men’s cricket team for the upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand.

The team for the tour of New Zealand will be announced on April 9th. The matches of the series will be played from April 18th to 27th in Rawalpindi and Lahore.

Azhar Mahmood’s career highlights include representing Pakistan in 164 international matches, taking 162 wickets and scoring 2,421 runs. Azhar Mahmood previously served as the bowling coach for the Pakistan men’s cricket team from 2016 to 2019.

Besides Azhar Mahmood, Waqar Younis has been appointed as the senior team manager, Mohammad Yousuf as the batting coach, and Saqlain Mushtaq as the spin bowling coach.

The sports staff of the Pakistan team will also include Mansoor Rana (team manager), Waqar Younis (senior team manager), Mohammad Yousuf (batting coach), Saqlain Mushtaq (spin bowling coach), Aftab Khan (fielding coach), Cliffe Deacon (physiotherapist), Drix Seaman (strength and conditioning coach), Talha Butt (analyst), Arthi Qamar (security manager), Reza Katchloo (media and digital manager), Zeen Masood (videographer), Dr. Khurram Suroor (doctor), and Muhammad Imran (masseur).

The announcement for the New Zealand series will be made on Tuesday, April 9th, at 12:45 PM in the media conference room at Qaddafi Stadium.
