Two suspects were arrested on charges of currency smuggling at the Torkham border. Deputy Director of Anti-Corruption Circle in Peshawar Saadullah directed a raid team to take action against the organized gang involved in dollar smuggling. The arrest of two suspects, including a customs inspector, was made based on intelligence agency reports. According to an FIA spokesman, the suspects were arrested for currency declaration point at the Torkham border. The suspects include customs inspector Wajid and Asfandyar. During the search, Asfandyar was found in possession of $123,000. He revealed the smuggling of millions of dollars on a daily basis during the investigation. The arrested suspect was in contact with multiple agents. He used to receive dollars at the customs offices at the Torkham border from the customer officers. In exchange for smuggling a million dollars, the suspect used to receive a commission of 50,000 rupees. According to the FIA, the money obtained under the name of commission was handed over to the customs authorities. The suspects have been arrested and the investigation has been initiated, and raids are being conducted for the arrest of other suspects.
