Peshawar: The Sunni Ittehad Council has filed a petition in the Peshawar High Court for the allocation of specific seats in the Assembly, which has been scheduled for hearing today. According to Express News, the petition filed by PTI in the Peshawar High Court includes the Election Commission, Muslim League-N, PPP, JUI, MQM, and other political parties as respondents. The petition argues that they have joined the Sunni Ittehad Council and now the independent candidates of PTI are part of the council. Specific seats are allocated in the elections based on the proportion of general seats, but the Sunni Ittehad Council has not been given any seats. The petition requests that the specific seats can also be reversed after the election, and it has been scheduled for hearing today.

Upon PTI’s request, special seats for women and minorities in the Sunni Ittehad Council have been included in the petition scheduled for hearing today. A two-member bench consisting of Justice Iqbal Istiqlal and Justice Shakil Ahmad will conduct the hearing.
