Karachi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced to reorganize the party in Punjab.
The PTI Central Punjab General Secretary and Acting President Hammad Azhar announced the decision to implement new party organization across the province.
He emphasized the importance of having permanent representatives in all districts of Punjab. It was noted that after becoming members of the assembly, the capacity for multiple representatives has increased.
Additionally, last week Hammad Azhar resigned from the positions of General Secretary of PTI Central Punjab and Acting President of Central Punjab, citing legal challenges as obstacles to fulfilling his duties.
In a letter to PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Secretary General Omar Ayub Khan, Hammad Azhar also mentioned the pressures he faced, including involvement in multiple legal cases.
Despite security raids on his home, harassment of his family, and the need to move them out of the country for safety, Hammad Azhar continued his work for the party from an undisclosed location since May 2023.
Hammad Azhar had deliberated extensively before deciding to step down from the party position.
However, PTI refused to accept Hammad Azhar’s resignation and urged him to continue his responsibilities. Gohar revealed that he had discussed the matter with PTI founder Imran Khan, who had directed him not to accept Hammad Azhar’s resignation.
Later, Hammad Azhar expressed gratitude for Imran Khan’s trust. He reaffirmed his determination to maintain Imran Khan’s trust and continue serving the party fervently.
