Actor Sohani Bhatnagar played the role of Aamir Khan’s daughter Babita Kumari in the hit film ‘Dangal’.
The father of Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan’s ‘Dangal’ co-star Sohani Bhatnagar has revealed the sudden cause of his daughter’s death. Speaking to the Indian media, Sohani Bhatnagar’s father revealed that two months ago, the actress began to suffer from swelling in her hands. Initially, they did not take the swelling seriously, but later it spread to the actress’s other hand and then her entire body.
Sohani Bhatnagar’s father said that despite consulting several doctors, they could not determine the cause of their daughter’s illness and almost 11 days ago, Sohani was admitted to the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) hospital in Delhi, where tests revealed that she was suffering from dermatomyositis. Her father said that dermatomyositis is a rare disease in which the body swells, blisters appear on the skin, and the muscles weaken, and the only treatment for this disease is steroids.
After taking steroids, Sohani’s immune system was severely affected, which weakened her immune system, resulting in Sohani being infected in hospital. Her lungs were weakened and filled with water, making it difficult for her to breathe. Her father further said that their daughter was not successful in fighting this disease and that on the evening of February 16, Sohani bid farewell to the world.
It is important to note that Sohani Bhatnagar had played the role of Aamir Khan’s daughter Babita Kumari in the hit film “Dangal”, after which she took a break from acting as she wanted to focus on her studies.
In the film, Aamir Khan was shown in the role of wrestler Mahavir Singh Phogat, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become the first female wrestlers of international standard in India.
Fatima Sana Sheikh and Sanya Malhotra played the roles of Aamir Khan’s daughters as adults, while Zaira Wasim and Sohani Bhatnagar portrayed their childhood roles.
