During a special campaign against electricity theft and unauthorized connections in various cities of Balochistan including Quetta, the provincial capital, a total of 992,200 electricity units were detected and fined. According to Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO), operations against electricity thieves and unauthorized connections are underway in Quetta, Pishin, Loralai, Sibi, Khuzdar, and Makran operation circles. A total of 1919 written requests for legal action against electricity theft have been sent to various police stations, and 580 FIRs have been registered so far. QESCO has charged a total of 992,200 electricity units with a penalty during the special campaign, amounting to approximately 507,949,000 rupees.
