Maryam Nawaz urges for swift completion of Ramazan package

Maryam Nawaz, the expected first female chief minister of Punjab, has instructed the administration to ensure the timely completion of the Ramzan package to provide relief to the public.

Sources also state that the expected next CM of Punjab has directed the administration to designate the Model Bazars as Ramzan Bazars, as her government will commence with the start of the Holy month of Ramazan.

As part of the package, the public will receive relief on the purchase of flour, ghee, pulses, sugar, and other essential items.

In a separate development, the federal cabinet has approved a Ramzan relief package for 2024 worth Rs7.49 billion as the holy month approaches.

The cabinet meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Kakar, has endorsed decisions made in the ECC meeting.

The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) has approved Rs 7,492.75 million for subsidy in the Ramazan Relief Package 2024, targeted at beneficiaries of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), as provided for in the 2023-24 budget.
