A Russian plane crashed in mountainous northeastern Afghanistan, with four survivors and two unaccounted for, the air transport agency Rosaviatsia said on Sunday. The Falcon 10 business jet was carrying six people on a hospital flight from India to Uzbekistan and Russia before communication was lost on Saturday evening. The fate of the two missing individuals is still being clarified. The plane, built in 1978 by France’s Dassault, was owned by a company called Athletic Group and a private individual. The crash site is in Badakhshan province, near the border of China, Tajikistan, and Pakistan. The area is eight hours by road from the provincial capital Faizabad. Russian investigators have opened a probe into the cause of the crash.
