Sultan, the Sultan of art, remained the famous hero of Punjabi films in the era of 80’s, and established a global record by acting in more than 800 films, in which he portrayed the role of a hero in 500 films.

Sultan Mohammad, also known as Sultan Rahi, was born in 1938 in the city of Uttar Pradesh, India and after the establishment of Pakistan, he moved to Pakistan.

He started his career with a regular role in the film “Baghi” but in 1972, the success of the film “Baaghi” turned him into a superstar.

Sultan Rahi and Mustafa Qureshi’s duo became a guarantee of the film’s success. Their film “Maula Jatt” set records at the box office. His other successful films include “Sala Sahib”, “Chan Varyam”, “Athra Puttar”, “Melay Gaa Zulm da Badla”, “Wahshi Jatt”, “Sher Khan”, “Shaley”, “Aakhri Jang”, “Jarnail Singh”, “Du Bhagey Zamindar”, “Sheran De Puttar” and many others.

Sultan Rahi also had the honor of having five films, including “Sher Khan”, “Zulm Da Badla”, “Athra Puttar”, “Chan Varyam” and “Sala Sahib” released on the same day on August 12, 1981 and these films set records of success.

Sultan Rahi acted in more than 800 films, which is a world record. Sultan Rahi’s name is present in the Guinness Book of World Records and he has been honored with more than 150 film awards.

His most popular film heroines were Asia, Anjuman, Saima, Ghori, Neeli, and Babra Sharif.

The Sultan of art was shot dead by unknown dacoits near Gujranwala on January 9, 1996. After Sultan Rahi’s tragic death, the Pakistani film industry fell into crisis.

It is also worth mentioning that at the time of his death, Sultan Rahi’s 54 films were still in production, which is also a world record.
