The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced that security forces have successfully carried out an intelligence-based operation in the Mazaband Range area of Balochistan’s Kech district on August 10-11. During this operation, two dangerous terrorists lost their lives, and another terrorist sustained injuries. The security forces also recovered a significant amount of arms and ammunition.

The ISPR stated that these slain terrorists were involved in targeting innocent civilians and law enforcement agencies. It also highlighted that the security forces of Pakistan are fully committed to eradicating the menace of terrorism and foiling the malicious intentions of those who pose a threat to the country.

Earlier last month, the Pakistan Army suffered a tragic loss as 12 soldiers were martyred in separate military operations in the Zhob and Sui areas of Balochistan. This marked the deadliest day for the military this year, surpassing the ‘fire raid’ incident in Kech district in February 2022 which claimed the lives of 10 personnel.

With the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) abrogating its ceasefire with the government in November last year, there has been an increase in terrorist activities in various parts of Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

According to a report released by the Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies in July, the first half of this year witnessed a disturbing rise in terror and suicide attacks that led to the unfortunate loss of 389 lives throughout the country.

In the face of such challenges, the security forces of Pakistan remain dedicated to maintaining peace and security within the country, and their efforts in countering terrorism are of utmost importance in ensuring the safety and well-being of the nation and its people.
