Karachi: Police attempted to seize 17 acres of land in Korangi Zaman Town, but failed, and arrested 8 members of the land mafia.

According to Express News, armed members of the land mafia attempted to seize 17 acres of land near Korangi Creek in the limits of Korangi Zaman Town police station. However, the police arrived at the scene and arrested 8 members of the mafia, while the mastermind and other individuals fled from the site.

According to the police, the arrested suspects include Kamran Abbas, Abid Hussain, Syed Nauman, Subhan, Rizwan, Naveed Ahmed, and Ghulam Hussain.

According to the plaintiff’s case, armed suspects arrived at Korangi Creek at 4:30 in the evening to seize 17 acres of land, threatened with weapons, and made death threats. Later, Zaman Town police successfully arrested the suspects at the scene.

The police have initiated an investigation by registering case number 22/2024 against the suspects, and a series of raids is ongoing to arrest other key suspects of the land mafia.

Sources say that members of the land mafia produce fake documents from the Board of Revenue Department and seize land illegally, but the Sindh government and police appear helpless in front of the land mafia.
