A double-decker bus traveling from Bangkok to the south of Thailand crashed into a tree, resulting in at least 14 deaths and 32 injuries. The bus, carrying 46 passengers, veered off the road in Prachuap Khiri Khan province at around 1am on Tuesday. The front of the vehicle was split in two, and the injured were taken to the hospital. The state-owned bus operator is investigating the cause of the crash, and police are looking into the possibility that the driver may not have had enough sleep. Thailand has a high road fatality rate, with about 20,000 people killed in traffic accidents each year. This is not the first fatal bus accident in Thailand, with similar incidents occurring in the past.
