The Malaysian Transport Minister, Anthony Loke, announced that seabed exploration firm Ocean Infinity has proposed a new search for Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 as the 10th anniversary of its disappearance approaches. Loke stated that the Malaysian government is dedicated to continuing the search, emphasizing the importance of not giving up.
During a remembrance event on Sunday marking the anniversary of the Boeing 777 plane’s vanishing on March 8, 2014, Loke shared that Ocean Infinity had presented a fresh search proposal following two unsuccessful attempts to locate the aircraft. He expressed his intentions to collaborate with Australia once Malaysia’s cabinet approves Ocean Infinity’s “no find, no fee” plan.
Relatives of the missing passengers have expressed optimism about the new search proposal. VPR Nathan and Jacquita Gomes, who lost their loved ones in the tragedy, welcomed the news and are hopeful for a successful outcome. Chinese national Jiang Hui, part of a lawsuit demanding compensation for the incident, urged Malaysia to keep families informed and continue the search efforts.
Debris from the missing plane has been discovered along the coast of Africa and in the Indian Ocean, providing some clues about the aircraft’s fate. Investigations have suggested possible deliberate actions taken to divert the plane off course.
