During the training exercises of the Malaysian Navy in Penang State, two helicopters collided in mid-air and were destroyed, resulting in the death of all personnel on board both helicopters.

According to reports from a global news agency, the incident occurred at Lumut Naval Base during the military exercises. The helicopters were flying at a low altitude above the Lumut Stadium.

After the collision, the helicopters crashed to the ground and caught fire. The fire quickly engulfed both helicopters, leading to the charred bodies of 10 individuals being recovered during the rescue operation.

The cause of the accident has not been determined yet, but eyewitnesses claim that during the descent, one helicopter’s rear rotor blade collided with the other helicopter.

According to eyewitnesses, after the collision, both helicopters spiraled out of control and crashed to the ground, out of the pilot’s control.

A statement released by the Malaysian Navy spokesperson mentioned that an inquiry committee has been formed to investigate the incident.
