During a political rally in Rajasthan, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi made controversial statements against Muslims. According to Indian media reports, Modi accused the opposition party Congress of wanting to divide India’s wealth among Muslims. He alleged that if Congress had won the elections, they would have distributed all of India’s wealth among the Muslim community. Modi further claimed that Congress had included Muslims in the lower strata of Hindu society and started providing them privileges that were previously only available to lower-caste Hindus.
Modi faced criticism for his anti-Muslim statements from Congress and other political parties as well as celebrities. However, former Miss World and Bollywood actress Lara Dutta openly supported Modi’s statements. In an interview with the Indian media, Dutta praised Modi for speaking openly about his beliefs and views. She stated that Modi had not said anything wrong in his statements but had expressed his beliefs courageously. Dutta emphasized that every individual has the right to hold and express their beliefs and that not everyone can be pleased in this world.
