Islamabad: PTI founder Chairman has written a letter to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court demanding an end to state oppression against PTI workers and justice. The letter, consisting of four pages, was released to the media by PTI. In reference to the letter, PTI’s central Secretary Information, Rauf Hassan, held a press conference and stated that the letter was written by the PTI founder Chairman to the Chief Justice of Pakistan, Imran Khan. An hour ago, this letter was delivered to the Chief Justice’s office. It is the responsibility of the Chief Justice to address the injustice being faced by our comrades, and not only has the Chief Justice failed to ensure justice, but also the lower courts have failed to deliver justice.
He mentioned that the situation has become very serious, as our workers have been facing raids for many days after the announcement of by-elections. The families of workers are being mistreated, and the injustice of powerful individuals’ old agendas is being implemented. Efforts are being made to make the by-elections rigged, fake signatures are being taken on blank papers, and non-compliant ROs are being tortured.
Rauf Hassan stated that oppressors are targeting PTI in every way possible, but this will not dampen our spirits. Internet services were shut down on February 8th, and now there is news of shutting down internet services again. Sanam Javaid and Alia have been arrested and shifted to Sargodha. All our prisoners are being targeted in a negative way, as per our information, many of them have been handed over to the police on physical remand for fifteen days. The tyranny of the state is being targeted towards our children. We understand that the era of General Zia’s martial law cannot come back, but even this current situation is turning back the clock on the progress made. Our demand is that our prisoners are freed from the state’s coercion.
He mentioned that in recent weeks, it has been written in the letter that the Chief Justice could not uphold the law and establish a proper judicial system. The letter also addressed the Toor Khana reference and other cases. The Toor Khana case against the Sharif brothers does not have any evidence with NAB, whereas NAB cases were open and shut cases. A retired general has been appointed to NAB, which has further affected the integrity of NAB.
Rauf Hassan said that the Bhaoolnagar incident has also proven that the law is with the powerful. In this incident, what happened to the police department? The law is in the hands of the powerful, and those who are powerless cannot demand justice. Further, he mentioned that the letter highlights more unlawfulness and situations.
He said that in the fifth point, we have requested the Chief Justice to talk to six judges, and the Chief Justice of Islamabad High Court has allowed communication. The person who is a culprit cannot resolve this matter; he will benefit from the entire situation and provide protection. Additionally, the arrested individuals on May 9th are innocent; a woman named Ayesha is facing four different cases that are kilometers away from the truth. The military court must punish those PTI individuals, whereas all other real and criminal thieves are getting state protection.
In the seventh point, Rauf Hassan mentioned that our reserved seats have been taken away, and the remaining groups have been divided among them. Sometimes, our seats are taken away in recounting. Only favoritism and the individual’s satisfaction are being prioritized. In the final paragraph, he reminded the Chief Justice that he had held the book of the Constitution of Pakistan in his reference, but at that time, he confessed that he followed and believed in the Constitution of Pakistan, but the Chief Justice of Pakistan himself has violated the Constitution. Our demand is that the Chief Justice of Pakistan should either implement the Constitution of Pakistan properly or refrain from providing protection to thieves and criminals and step down from his position.
