Lahore: The AC coach of the Multan Express traveling from Faisalabad to Karachi caught a suspect cutting and stealing copper wires from all four compartments. The railway staff managed to catch the culprit with colored hands and tools, including wires.

Due to the lack of handcuffs with the police constables, the suspect’s hands had to be tied with a rope by the RTI staff.

In another incident, a carriage cleaner from Rawalpindi was caught carrying metal dustbin and other materials from the rail car.

Former DIG Operations Shahzad Akbar had issued written instructions to all SPs four years ago to prevent the theft of copper wires from coaches.

Railway CO Amir Baloch stated that they will tighten monitoring to prevent material theft, and action will be taken against the negligence of police officers as well.
